All are breathing a sigh of relief that none of the 162 persons on board Caribbean Airlines flight 523 was killed. However, there were four serious injuries.

The Cheddi Jagan International Airport is scheduled to be reopened at 10 am this morning.  No one on the ground was hurt when the plane came to a stop not too far from a ravine. All the passengers and crew were quickly and safely taken to medical facilities for treatment, although some unconfirmed reports indicate that passengers were alone in the dark of night after the incident, and finally had to pay a taxi operator for a ride to get to the airport’s terminal.

This is really a miracle that no one has been fatally injured.

Please see my previous post for more detailed information on this unfortunate incident.
